Worry Dolls

Hello,  I added a few new things to my shop and these Worry Dolls were one of them, as I had quite a few to make I thought I'd share the process with you.

I start by putting 2 pieces of thick jute, one for the arms and one for the head body and legs.

Items needed, Jute and various colours of wool

 Once you have these items then its time to start wrapping

First the legs

Wrap the wool to make trousers or you could use a piece of material to make a dress or skirt

Now its time to add the arms and a sweater

The back of the worry doll

 Time to add the hair, pony tail, plait, or spikes

 Now all that's needed is to add the rest of the family to take away all the worry

No two dolls are the same

Voodoo

Hello all,  I decided to have a break from crochet and made something a little different. Here are a few pictures showing the progress of my voodoo dolls.
I began by drawing out a simple pattern on paper. I wanted the doll to have a primitive look.

Stitching the pieces together

The body sewn and turned to the right side

 

Now for the legs, oblong pieces the more simple the better

Heart pinned and ready to stitch

Random stitches

Two dolls completed with buttons for eyes

A couple of stitches added to the arms and legs for elbows and knees

Arms and legs sewn on in white with black stitches to give the voodoo look

Oh and here's my huge pincushion that holds all I need when I sew.

So Much Has Been Happening

Its been a while since I posted on here but so many things have been happening. I finally found an adapted house, moved in and got settled.

A Crazy Saturday Night lol

Hello, it's Saturday night and am I up to rave? Nope. To me I've been doing something a lot better, I've been trying out a couple of new items to hopefully sell in my store Everyone's Secret Spirit. 
The new items are a rinse for your hair which with the aid of Thyme, Rosemary and Nettle is believed to help with dandruff as well as with hair growth.

The sachet is infused in boiling water as you would with a teabag, I left mine for 10 minutes, the infused water is then used as a rinse after you have washed your hair. as you slowly pour the infusion over your hair you gently massage the scalp. As well as the infusion a gentle massage of the scalp will help blood flow.

Here's how it looks just before use

The second new item is a Beauty Herbal Bath. The herbs such as Lavender flowers, rosemary leaves, dried mint, thyme are enclosed in a muslin bag, the bag is then added to the running water of the bath (it smells gorgeous... not over powering). Leave the bag in the bath while you soak and let the herbs relax your mind and help to rejuvenate your skin.

• Rosemary Leaf: is a cleansing tonic for the skin.
• Lavender : induces a sense of calm
• Thyme: possesses amazing anti-bacterial properties. It is effective in fighting the bacteria that causes skin acne. 
• Mint: will leave you feeling refreshed

New Ideas

Hello, I hope you all had a good Christmas and 2017 is treating you well. It's all back to business here We have been selecting new items which will be added to our Etsy store in the nest week or so. Up to now we have decided on some pin button badges, bookmarks, postcards, large prints and new selection of cards for anyone who knows when its time to dump their cheating partner or say goodbye to bad rubbish.

Life has been made easier with our new cards. As our ad will read "don't just send a text show them you care and select the right break up card for the occasion" lol

 Our Youtube channel has been updated and two new videos have been added, Hopefully they will give you some insight as to what happens when I use photoshop. The new predator print which is to go on sale soon took 7 hours to complete and has been condensed down to about 6 mins,  here he is in all his glory, meet Predator.

New Beginnings With A Thumb Pincushion

I've been making a few things for friends and family lately which have had some good feedback but I blame Betsie Furniss for suggesting I sell some of my creations.

Ive roped my husband Kris into helping me with advertisements and videos as he's a gorgeous computer geek. With regards to the selling platform I've decided to try Etsy.com rather than eBay as they mainly sell hand made items.

The first of hopefully many items I'll list here are my thumb pincushions. Although these are called thumb pincushions I usually have one of these hung on my sewing machine. These are really good for using up oddments of material and I know if I'm using up material from my stock then my hubby is happy for any space it may make. Each pincushion is made from a 10cm square piece of cotton, polyester stuffing and of course cotton.
